Description
The Taurasi Principe Lagonessa from the Amarano winery is made in Irpinia, in the province of Avellino. The family-run winery was founded in 2004 and manages 7 hectares of vineyards located at an average altitude of 500 meters above sea level. The winery cultivates only native red and white grape varieties: Aglianico, Fiano, Greco, and Coda di Volpe, the basis of their wines. The pure Aglianico grapes are vinified in stainless steel, with a long maceration on the skins at a controlled temperature. The wine then ages for 24-36 months in 50-hl oak barrels. Dark ruby in color, it offers aromas of black cherry and plum, spice, and balsamic notes. The palate is structured and intense, with a lingering finish. The Taurasi is a wine to be enjoyed with tagliatelle with wild boar ragù and grilled red meats.
