Phigaia After The Red is a Bordeaux-style red wine produced in the Treviso area. The blend comprises the three grape varieties typically used in Bordeaux blends: Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. It matures in wood for 13 to 18 months, and then ages in bottle for an additional two years. It is ruby red in color with garnet highlights. The aroma is varied and complex, ranging from notes of black cherry to medicinal herbs, through hints of bell pepper, and veering toward a texture of coffee and vanilla. Balanced, the tannic structure and softness frame the palate of this full-bodied yet very fresh red. It lingers with a long aftertaste of licorice. Pair with stew.
