Malvasia Isonzo del Friuli DOC 2022 - Drius

Hints of Mediterranean scrub, power and control, a spectacle of savory and fullness. It will transport you to the top of a mountain, with the freshness of the air and the thrill of a gaze that stretches to the horizon and reaches the sea. The grapes are harvested strictly by hand. Once transported to the winery, they are destemmed and left to cold macerate in the press for 2 to 4 hours. They are then softly pressed, and the resulting must is cold-decanted for 24 hours. Fermentation takes place in steel and oak barrels at a controlled temperature which remains constant between 16 and 20°C. The wine is then aged on its lees for 9 months during which frequent bâtonnage is carried out. The color is an intense straw yellow. The nose is highly varietal and complex: fruity notes tending towards jam are accompanied by spicy notes reminiscent of pepper. On the palate, it is full-bodied, structured, and savory with a delicate hint of peach blossom. It pairs well with risotto, white meats, and blue cheeses. Also excellent as an aperitif. Best served at 10°C.
