Greco di Tufo DOCG 2022 - Di Prisco

Greco di Tufo is one of the great Irpinia grape varieties. It is a warm, sumptuous, and structured wine, at times rebellious, yet endowed with personality and great depth. The DOCG production area is limited to just eight municipalities, partly within the Partenio Regional Park, at an altitude ranging from 300 to 650 meters in the Sabato River valley. Greco's distinctive characteristics, characterized by a pronounced minerality and freshness, are due to the volcanic soil that covers the entire area. An eruption of Vesuvius over ten thousand years ago covered the area with volcanic material, resulting in a sulfurous wine. Di Prisco grows it on the land of Montefusco, in one of the highest areas of the area, between 600 and 635 meters, with a southwest exposure. The Greco vineyards extend over a single 2-hectare plot, where, in addition to the classic version, the selection of “Pietra Rosa” grapes is born.
