Monte Acuto Aged Grappa - Berta Distillery

There was a time when Monte Acuto was a mysterious fortress, a kind of atoll suspended above the sea, surrounded by the outlines of hills lined with Scots pines, resembling the crests of prehistoric beasts. There was a time when Monte Acuto was surrounded by the vast sea, only a few lands emerged, torrents raged, and animals of every kind. There was a time when the waters receded, the land rose, and landscapes were born. Carved by the waters, eroded by the winds, shaped from nothing, this is how the rich and bountiful vineyards of Roero emerged. Then there was a time when Monte Acuto watched over this land, dominated it, became home to a mysterious castle, gave it its name, protected it from attacks, and made it great. There was a time when emperors asked for asylum and it accepted, when owners changed hands and it loved them, protected them. Monte Acuto became grappa, and it also lent its name to grappa. It takes shape from a selection of the finest pomace from this area. A tribute the Berta family pays to the welcoming and generous Roero. The result: a precious distillate.
