Etna Rosso DOC 2018 - Benanti

Made from a selection of grapes from vineyards located on the northern, southeast, and southwest slopes of Etna. A blend of Nerello Mascalese (approximately 80-85%) and Nerello Cappuccio (approximately 15-20%). The soils are sandy, volcanic, mineral-rich, and sub-acidic. The vines, ranging in age from 10 to 60 years, are trained both as traditional bush vines and espalier, with planting densities of 6,000-8,000 vines per hectare and yields of 7,000-8,000 kg/ha. Altitudes range from 450-900 meters above sea level, with a mountain and high-hill climate, humid and rainy in the coldest season, strong winds, and significant temperature ranges.
