Chardonnay, typically planted in Tuscany in areas less suited to Sangiovese, has proven to perform at its best at San Felice, thanks in part to the particularly favorable soil and microclimate for this grape variety. Ancherona is a well-structured, complex white wine with excellent aging potential. The small French oak barrels where the wine ferments and ages impart a pleasant, subtle toasted note. Its name, of Etruscan origin, derives from a stream (borro) near the estate.
