Pale ruby red with garnet highlights. The nose is delightfully intense, complex, and remarkably refined. Notes of red currant precede those of rose and underbrush, with the various facets that animate it. Tobacco, caramel, and sweet spices follow, while subtle balsamic notes conclude with aromatic herbs. Overall, the aromas are clean and finely nuanced. On the palate, it moves lightly between hardness and softness. The structure is supported by freshness and verticality, with tannins relegated to the background. The volume is substantial and adequate, resulting in a balanced and harmonious sip. The persistence of aromas of blueberry, flowers, and vanilla is also excellent. The Marinushof Pinot Noir is one of the finest expressions of Pinot Noir in all of Alto Adige, and indeed in Italy as a whole.
