Description
Paolo Leo's Orfeo comes from vineyards located in the heart of Salento, an area blessed with breezes from the Ionian and Adriatic Seas. It is made exclusively from Negroamaro grapes, hand-picked in the early hours of dawn. Fermentation takes place with maceration on the skins for 12-15 days at a controlled temperature. The wine ages first in stainless steel for 3 months, then in French and American oak barrels for 12 months, and for a further 3 months in bottle before being released. A deep ruby red wine with garnet hues, it offers a broad and spicy aroma on the nose, enriched with hints of wild berries. On the palate, it is full-bodied and rounded, pleasantly soft and balanced. Recommended with pasta dishes and red meats, it is perfect with cured meats and game dishes.
